D\u00e8s que cette image s\u2019est esquiss\u00e9e au cours du d\u00e9veloppement, sa force m’a frapp\u00e9e. La composition tonale \u00ab dorure \u00bb, initialement choisie, m’a paru compl\u00e8tement en harmonie avec la blancheur immacul\u00e9e de la forme corporelle, qu\u2019elle avait elle-m\u00eame engendr\u00e9e par effet de contraste. Dans l\u2019iconographie traditionnelle, la croix du Christ surplombe toujours celle des deux voleurs, dont la compagnie \u00e9tait cens\u00e9e l\u2019humilier encore un peu plus aux yeux des autorit\u00e9s. Le caract\u00e8re tr\u00e8s \u00e9pur\u00e9 de l\u2019image, o\u00f9 les voleurs n\u2019apparaissent pas, accro\u00eet d\u2019autant l\u2019impression de solitude, dans laquelle, selon l\u2019\u00e9vangile de Matthieu, J\u00e9sus rendit son dernier souffle. \/ As soon as this image emerged during development, its strength struck me. The tonal composition \u00ab\u00a0gilding\u00a0\u00bb, initially chosen, seemed to me to be in complete harmony with the immaculate whiteness of the bodily form, which it itself had generated by contrast effect. In traditional iconography, the cross of Christ always overlooks that of the two thieves, whose company was supposed to further humiliate him in the eyes of the authorities. The very refined nature of the image, where the thieves do not appear, further increases the feeling of solitude, in which, according to the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus breathed his last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
