La représentation en fresque d’une magnifique baignoire crétoise du XVI^ème av. J-C, découverte près de Haghia Triada m’a frappé par sa gaîté ; elle semblait creusée dans la pierre ou alors moulée en bronze et recouverte d’une sorte de céramique. La brillante civilisation minoenne cultivait un art de vivre, dont les ruines de Cnossos ou les fresques de Akrotiri par exemple livrent le témoignage. / The fresco representation of a magnificent Cretan bathtub from the 16th century BC. AD, discovery near Haghia Triada struck me by its cheerfulness; it seemed hollowed out of stone or cast in bronze and covered with a kind of ceramic. The brilliant Minoan civilization cultivated an art of living, of which the ruins of Knossos or the frescoes of Akrotiri, for example, bear witness.
